Winter Weather Information

Winter Weather Information:
Due to the snow that we just received we would like to inform residents on items dealing with the winter and snow fall.

Winter Parking begins November 15th and runs until April 15th.  For more information click here
  • If you receive mail through a mailbox, it is the property owner’s or renter’s responsibility to clear all snow in front of your mailbox to ensure your mail is delivered.  If you are planning on receiving a package, make sure your sidewalk and steps are clear of ice and snow.  This will allow safe access for those delivering.
  • Plowing across the street is against state law.  Plowing snow across the street can leave a deposit of snow which can be hazardous to motorists which is why this is against the City Ordinances and state law.
  • If you live in a home that is adjacent to a sidewalk the snow must be removed within 12 hours of a snow event by the adjacent owner.  If the snow is not removed within 24 hours after a snow event, the City will remove the snow and bill each property owner $50 each time for removal.  City Ordinance 93.51
  • For those that have a fire hydrant on or near your property, consider helping clear them of snow.  This will help provide quick access for the fire department if a fire occurs near you.  For locations of fire hydrants, click here for map of hydrants within the city.
