The ambulance service for the City of Cokato is operated with a dedicated crew of loyal, longtime emergency personnel.

Director Jim Erickson notes that the ambulance service is a completely separate entity from the fire department, and always has been since it formed in 1979.

The ambulance service area includes the City of Cokato, Cokato Township, Stockholm Township and part of French Lake Township.

Eighteen members are scheduled to respond to 911 calls.

“We had 118 calls our first year, and last year, we were up to 350. Our all-time high for calls is 377 in 2006,” Erickson commented.

The ambulance station is located on the corner of 7th Street SE and U.S. Highway 12 in Cokato.
